Global Data Lab (2017)

The Global Data Lab develops "instruments for monitoring and analysing the status and progress of societies", providing insight into the development over time of developing countries in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Particularly of note here is that the Global Data Lab provides this information not just on a national, but also sub-national levels through its Area Database.

My involvement in the project has been to rewrite the existing codebase into a scalable new website, integrating the Lab's existing instruments using a modular architecture. Aside from those core activities, I developed a new data viewer and layout per specification. The new data viewer allows users to optionally apply colour scales to the table, making data trends more intuitively visible.

Also check out the more recent work I did for the Global Data Lab.
